on your product page
The Alate Size Finder block adds a "What's my size?" button to any product that has a body-measurement size chart. On products without one, the button stays hidden.

Add your sizing once, and shoppers can check which size will likely fit them on your product page or in the Alate app.
One industry report (Virtusize) puts size and fit behind more than half of fashion returns. Alate shows shoppers your own size data while they're choosing a size, so they're guessing less when they order.
We're setting up a small group of independent brands ourselves, using a private install link. The app isn't in the public Shopify App Store yet.
The cost of a guess
On a small order it can easily cost more than you made on the sale.
What your shoppers see
Both use the size data you add. Your store never receives a shopper's measurements, only the size Alate suggests.
The Alate Size Finder block adds a "What's my size?" button to any product that has a body-measurement size chart. On products without one, the button stays hidden.
No app neededShoppers type in their chest, waist and hips in cm or inches, and their height if they want. They get your size label and a note on the fit. If that size is sold out, the block says so.
Find my sizeShoppers who already use Alate can tap "Use my Alate profile" and approve it on their phone. The size then comes from the profile they've already set up.
Connect with AlateWhen someone pastes one of your product links into Alate, their fit card uses your data. It tells them which of your sizes to order and where it will sit on them, and it uses your fabric details and your model's height too.
Alate appThe block tells shoppers that their measurements are used once and aren't stored or shared with your store.
Used onceSetup
The app's Home page takes you through three steps, and the checklist goes away once you've finished.
We send you a private install link. Installing it connects the app to your store and doesn't change your theme code, checkout or catalogue.
Paste in a table, or let Alate look through your product descriptions for size charts. You check every row before it's saved. A chart can apply to one product, a collection or your whole shop.
Tick the kinds of shoppers you design for, such as tall, petite, plus, wide or modest. Alate uses this to match your brand with shoppers whose body profile fits.
The Products page shows how many of your products are "ready for Alate shoppers". Open any product to add its chart, fit offerings, model sizing and fabric.
Home checks your live theme and gives you a link that opens the theme editor with the block ready to add. Press Save and the button appears on your store.
What you control
Body measurements in cm or inches. Add a chart for one product, a whole collection or the entire shop.
Tall and petite ranges, longer or shorter legs and sleeves, extended sizes and made to measure. For each one you can add the extra length, the price difference, how long it takes and how to order it.
Your model's height and the size they're wearing, for each product. Alate uses this to tell a shorter or taller shopper where a hem will land on them.
Paste the care label to fill in the fibre content, then say how much the fabric stretches.
If you tick "We won't restock this product", Alate stops offering back-in-stock alerts for it, so nobody waits for something that isn't coming.
For each product, a count of Alate shoppers over the last 90 days who were outside your size range and said they'd want a bigger or smaller size. You see the number only, with no names or measurements.
Choose the unit for new charts, and set a default chart for any product that doesn't have its own.
Your data
Alate only stores the sizing details Shopify doesn't have. This is what it reads and what it keeps.
The Alate for Brands privacy policy has the details. There's also support, and a page on how the Alate app reads a public product page.
No. You install from a link we send you, add your charts in the app and turn on the "Alate Size Finder" block in your theme editor. Your theme code isn't touched.
That's fine. Alate matches shoppers against your chart, so if your sizes run small or you cut for tall or petite bodies, the answer reflects that.
On your store they either type in a few measurements, which are used once and then deleted, or connect their Alate profile. Your store only receives the size.
It's a small theme app block that only loads on product pages. We're measuring how it affects page speed on a test store before the app goes into the public listing.
We're setting up early-access brands ourselves. Write to us and we can talk it through.
The block disappears and what you entered is deleted. The app never changed your catalogue, theme or checkout, so there's nothing to undo.
